A: Yes! Our system is now fully compatable with Macs. See system requirements for more information.

back to FAQs

Q: How can I be sure I will be able to view a WebShop? Is there a way to test the system before I purchase a registration?

A: We have posted a free WebShop clinic to help ensure that your system is compatable with ours and that you can access it successfully. This free recording also provides helpful hints for participating in WebShops and may be of use as you are becoming familiar with our system.

back to FAQs

Q: If I register for a live WebShop can someone else sit in on it with me?

A: Not without consent of the Leadership Institute, no. WebShops are intended to be purchased and viewed individually. In the event you want to share a topic with peers we offer group discounts. This policy is in place to protect the integrity of the system. Given the expense that is incurred in providing WebShops any compromise of the system will eventually lead to an inability to provide these professional development opportunities. When you purchase a WebShop you are purchasing the right to participate in the activity individually. In doing so you agree that the WebShop is being used solely for personal purposes only and that all other uses of the WebShop have the express consent of the Leadership Institute.

back to FAQs

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: We accept Mastercard, Visa and American Express. Group registration can be paid in advance of the group viewing via check, purchase order or credit card over the phone.

back to FAQs

Q: Will the audio come through my computer or will I have to call in separately?

A: There are two ways to receive audio; through a standard telephone connection or through your computer.

Standard telephone connection - when you connect to a Live WebShop the following message box will appear. Type your phone number in the field provided in the "Use Phone" section and click on "call me." Our system will call you back and connect you to the teleconference. Note: Use this option to maintain the best video and audio quality.

Audio Screen Shot

Through your computer - If you would prefer to receive audio through your computer click on the "Join" button located in the "Use Computer" section at the bottom of the message box shown above. Important! If you choose this option you will have the following limitations:

  • Unless you have a Voice Over IP (VOIP) headset you will not be able to ask questions through the audio connection.
  • You may experience diminished sound quality.
  • You may experience diminished video quality.

When you connect you will more than likely be prompted to run the "Audio Set Up Wizard." If prompted to run the wizard follow the instructions provided.

Note: Keeping the audio and video connections separate helps us to provide the best possible video quality. If you elect to stream the audio through your computer the audio and video have to share bandwidth, and this slows down the video transmission. Select this option only if you have a stable and robust internet connection.

In the event that you join the session via VOIP and the audio and video become choppy you can leave the WebEx audio session by clicking on the "audio" button on the bottom of the participant panel, then clicking "Leave WebEx Audio." You can then enter your phone number in the "Use Phone" section of the message box and the system will call you back and reconnect you to the teleconference.

Q: What if I purchase a WebShop and then cannot get it? Or what if I get cut off during the WebShop? Will I lose my money?

A: In the event that anything happens that prevents you from participating fully in the live WebShop you have purchased you will be issued a coupon to view the recorded version of the same topic at no charge.

back to FAQs

Q: Can I participate in a live WebShop with another paid participant from the same computer:

A: Yes, if you want to participate with another paid registrant you can view the WebShop from the same computer and audio link. You must, however, let us know the name of the person you will be attending with so we can ensure you both receive proper credit for participation.

back to FAQs

Q: There are a group of us that want to participate together. Can we receive a group discount?

A: Yes, for more information on group WebShop pricing please contact Amy.

back to FAQs

Q: Will I receive a certificate of completion to verify my attendance?

A: Yes, you will receive a certificate of completion within 72 hours of your participation in a live WebShop.

back to FAQs

Q: What do I need to do to get CEUs?

A: When you register for a live WebShop be sure to enter your address and RID member number on the registration form. You will also need to complete and submit the evaluation form provided at the completion of the session. Once we receive your evaluation we will run a report to verify your attendance. CEUs will be submitted on behalf of those participants that entered their address and RID member number on the WebShop registration form and the evaluation form.

back to FAQs

Q: How long will it take for my CEUs to be processed and appear on my transcript?

A: CEU reports take at least a week to compile and send to our sponsor. From there the sponsor has 45 days to confirm the information submitted and send it on to RID. Once in RID's hands it can take up to 45 days to be added to your transcript. Please allow for at least 90 days for CEUs to appear on your transcript. In the event that 90 days have passed and your transcript does not reflect credit for your participation in a recent session please contact Amy. For more information on our CEU sponsor click here.

back to FAQs

Q: Can I receive state credit towards maintaining state licensure or my EIPA?

A: Each state handles this differently but generally speaking any workshop offered for RID CEUs is recognized for credit as long as a certificate of completion can be provided. Please contact your respective state administrator to confirm and find out if there are any other additional requirements in your state.

Q: What internet browser should I use to access recorded WebShops?

A: For best results please access all Recorded WebShops through the list of recommended browsers is the systems requirement section above. Accessing Recorded WebShops through AOL, Hotmail and Yahoo accounts is not supported - you will receive an error message should you try to attempt to gain access to recorded sessions from one of these browsers.

Q: How do I register for and view a recorded WebShop?

A: Click here to view "start to finish," step by step instructions on registering and viewing recordings. For abbreviated instructions click here.

Q: I cannot find the recording I'm looking for. If a topic isn't there does that mean it is no longer available?

A: No, it means that the recording is probably on page 2 or 3 of our Library. Once in the "Recorded Sessions" listing scroll over to the right and click on the "2" or the "3" near the top of the page. This will redirect you to another page of available recordings.

Q: I think I paid for a recorded WebShop twice. How can I get a refund?

A: In the event that you mistakenly register and pay for a recorded WebShop more than once please call 303-865-5300 Ext. 3 and we will either void the charge, issue a credit to your card, or issue you a coupon code to be used towards a future purchase.

Q: Can I earn CEUs for a recorded WebShop?

A: Yes, upon completion of a recorded WebShop you will be directed to an evaluation form. You must complete and submit this form to the email address provided immediately after viewing in order for us to verify and submit your CEU request.

Q: Can I receive handouts for a recorded WebShop before I view it?

A: Our system does not allow us to post handouts for downloading prior to participating in recorded WebShops, however, you can email Amy to request WebShop materials in advance. You can also request handouts when you submit your completed evaluation.

Q: Can I start and stop the recording if I get interrupted?

A: Yes, there are playback controls along the bottom of the screen that allow you to pause the recording. You can pause and restart to your heart's content but once you "x" out of the recording you will not be able to re-enter. Please be sure that you can watch the recording in its entirety before purchase as it is a one time viewing only.

Q: Will I need to call in via the telephone to hear the recording?

A: No. There are a few recordings that are presented in ASL only but for those recordings presented in spoken English or for which voice interpretation is provided the audio will come through your computer. For these recordings just make sure your speakers are turned on.

Q: Can I download the recording and watch it later?

A: No. Recordings are purchased as a one-time viewing only and are not available for downloading. The system is designed so that you purchase, register for and view the recording in one sitting. Once you register and pay for the recording it will begin to play. If you close out of the system after you register and pay you will need to contact us to issue you a coupon code to gain re-entry into the recording without submitting payment again.

Q: If I purchase a recorded WebShop can someone else view it with me?

A: Not without consent of the Leadership Institute, no. Recorded WebShops are intended to be purchased and viewed individually. In the event you want to share a topic with peers we offer group discounts. This policy is in place to protect the integrity of the system. Given the expense that is incurred in providing WebShops any compromise of the system will eventually lead to an inability to provide these professional development opportunities. When you purchase a recorded WebShop you are purchasing a one-time right to view it. In doing so you agree that the WebShop recording is being used solely for personal purposes only and that all other uses of the recording have the express consent of the Leadership Institute.

Q: When I try to play the recording it plays a few minutes, then pauses to "buffer." It will play a few more minutes but then stops again. Is there any way to correct this?

A: Yes. When you see that it is "buffering" what is happening is that the video is being temporarily downloaded to your computer. The video starts and stops like that for one, or both, of the following reasons; your computer does not have enough temporary memory available to allow it to continually stream or your internet connection is running slowly. To rectify this issue pause the recording and allow it to fully buffer. On the bottom of your screen is a progress bar - when this bar is completely blue the recording is fully buffered. Click the play button again and you should be able to view the recording without the frequent starts and stops.

Q: The recording suddenly stopped while I was viewing it. What happened and how I can I get the recording back?

A: From time to time we all experience blips in our internet service. When these blips happen they are typically invisible to the user, however, when they happen during playback they sever the connection with our server and the recording will stop. In the event the recording stops during playback please call 303-865-5300 Ext. 3 and we will issue you a coupon code to gain re-entry into the recording without submitting payment again.

Q: I lost my internet connection while I was watching a recorded WebShop. How can I get the recording back without paying again?

A: In the event you lose your internet connection during playback please call 303-865-5300 Ext. 3 and we will issue you a coupon code to gain re-entry into the recording without submitting payment again.

Q: I just completed viewing a recorded WebShop but I was not directed to the evaluation form. Where can I get a copy of the evaluation form I need to complete in order to earn CEUs?

A: To retrieve an evaluation form click here.

Q: Will I receive a Certificate of Completion or verification of my attendance?

A: Yes, you will receive a Certificate of Completion after we receive your completed evaluation form and verify your attendance. Certificates will be emailed to the address on the registration form within one week of receiving your completed evaluation.
