WebShop Description:

Everything is energy vibrating at it's own unique frequency, and there are ways to measure the energy fields of all things. This includes the words we speak, the thoughts we think and the human body we inhabit. Viewing the physical container for our souls as energy allows us to easily identify where we are making energetic errors in our relationships with one another.  It also encourages us to make conscious choices to correct those errors and interact with others in a manner that is the highest expression of self.

Dr. Ginger Bowler begins this session by examining the basic principles that underlie the reality of the human body as an energy field.  Participants will be introduced to the concepts of dowsing - the measurement of energy using an instrument - and auras as a means to better understand why all things have the potential to impact our lives.  Dr. Bowler will then introduce her "Above the Line Below the Line" Model of Energy.  This model is simple enough that it can be understood and used by children and adults alike.  When used as a standard of behavior in the workplace, school or at home it has the power to modify behaviors, thoughts and attitudes that are negatively impacting your life and your relationships.

Simply put, this WebShop examines ways in which we can all become more energetically responsible and Listening & Communicating with Energyhealthy, and contribute to communities, teams, organizations and families that are truly authentic and loving.

Note about the presenter:

Dr. Bowler is the creator of the "Above the Line, Below the Line" model of energy highlighted in the book "Listening and Communicating with Energy" and in the Leadership Institute's "Power of Words" recorded WebShop. The recording of this special combination online/onsite event will replace The Power of Words.

This WebShop is presented in spoken English with ASL Interpretation.

WebShop Description:

As interpreters we tend to adopt the belief that our needs are secondary to the needs of students and consumers of interpreting services. Yet by putting our own needs last we do ourselves, and consumers, a grave disservice. By not identifying and articulating what we need, in a professional manner, to meet the demands of our job we inadvertently short change everyone involved in the communication event.

This WebShop examines the needs of interpreters working in K-12 and post-secondary settings through assessment and discussion of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Participants will be introduced to Maslow’s model as a foundation for creating their own Hierarchy of Needs (HON). This HON will then serve as a tool for participants to identify how much of the time they are actually mentally and emotionally present during the process of interpreting, and how to articulate what is needed (i.e. longer breaks, prep time etc) so that they can work towards being fully present for consumers.

Participants will also examine the unspoken “hierarchy of interpreting” and how the use of labels we use to define our work have become a vehicle for judgment and positioning, and work against the development of a cohesive team and community. The group created HONs and the hierarchy of interpreting are then be used in tandem as a vehicle for discussion around perceptions and the creation of healthy relationships and supportive workplace dynamics both within the interpreting and administrative teams.

Many WebShop topics are available as live workshops.
